Statement regarding the new direction of “EPT”
The EPT has been in existence for 22 years, facilitating the development and distribution of research generated in LMICs, but recently its administration has moved from the UK to Canada/Brazil and continuation of meeting the UK Charity Commission’s statutory requirements has been difficult to maintain. It was therefore agreed by all Trustees, that the UK Charity status should be closed, and that the activities of its Trustees be continued in a less formal structure. All trustees are deeply engaged and committed to the support of OA and the global distribution of research output from LMICs and will continue to work together to further this aim, and collaborate in any opportunities that arise.
